New Tata Sierra Teased Ahead of Launch: The Icon Returns on November 25
Tata Motors has officially confirmed what fans have been waiting for – the legendary Tata Sierra. Tata Sierra is making a grand comeback. It is set to be launched on November 25, 2025, the all-new Tata Sierra will be offered in both ICE (petrol/diesel) and electric versions. This marks one of Tata’s most anticipated launches yet, as the brand revives a nameplate that once defined Indian SUVs.
A New Chapter for the Sierra Legacy
The new Sierra will be sitting between the Tata Curvv and Tata Harrier in the brand’s SUV lineup, offering a perfect balance mix of ruggedness, space, and modern design. Unlike the OG Sierra, which was known for its old-school charm, the 2025 Sierra blends nostalgia with futuristic styling and tech.

Tata has reportedly developed multiple versions of its 1.5-litre engines – including a naturally aspirated petrol, a turbocharged TGDi petrol, and a diesel option. The new turbo petrol motor is expected to produce around 168 PS of Power and 280 Nm of Torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Tata Sierra EV – Power Meets Sustainability
The electric Sierra is expected to share its underpinnings with its elder sibling Harrier EV, which means we can expect serious long range and performance. Tata will likely to offer two different battery pack options, with the larger one battery which is capable of delivering more than 500 kms of range on a single charge. Features like fast charging and bi-directional charging (which lets you power external devices) will also be the part of the package, making it one of the most practical EVs in its segment.
Design: Modern Yet Familiar
Tata hasn’t forgotten what made the original Sierra special — its wraparound rear glass panel. The new model will proudly bring this design language back, now blended into a sleeker and much more aerodynamic body. The SUV will look muscular with squared wheel arches, split LED headlamps, and a full-width LED connected tail lights at the rear, giving it a bold and futuristic stance.

Talking about the cabin of Sierra, it is expected to feel properly premium. Early teasers shown a triple-screen dashboard layout – one for the driver’s cockpit showing MID functions, one for the infotainment screen, and one for the front co-passenger. Sierra will also be loaded with dual-tone interiors, soft-touch materials, ambient lighting, and high-end features like a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, ventilated seats, and a Harman-Kardon sound system.
Safety and Tech
Tata Motors has always been known for its its safety, and the new Sierra will be no exception. The SUV will come equipped with Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree cameras, electronic parking brake with hill hold, six airbags as standard, and electronic stability control (ESC). Multiple drive and terrain modes will also be offered, making Tata Sierra capable both on the highways and on the off beaten paths.
